Family Portraits- The Evenson Family
From the minute I met Ali, in a photography class, I knew I liked her. She has a unique strength of character that makes her nearly invincible in everything she does. The more I get to know her parents and siblings the more I want to get to know because these people are wonderful, classy, laid-back people and I like those types of folk. We had a cold blast during our canyon session, can you tell? The Evensons totally worked for me and I loved it! Nuff said.

WEDDING Melissa & Ross- Thanksgiving Point, Utah

Do you want to see what joy and love look like? Look at Melissa, Ross and their families. Ross' family traveled, on rather short notice, from Ireland to support this marriage and Melissa's family helped Melissa plan the wedding in one week. Yep, dress, food, location...a week and please, look at how classy everything turned out! I love being involved in small weddings. Small weddings expose love and support in such a beautiful way that make the significance of a "joining together" so tangible and miraculous. Yes, I said miraculous. Love is a miracle and this love is certainly no exception.

Kiera and Cold

Sunday morning the sun came up in a way that really felt like an apology for being hidden for so long. But before its entrance the air was cold, and our thick hoped-for fog groped every tree and hung heavy with image possibilities. We considered trees and fields, looked at how bleak the morning was and we moved into our respective grooves.
My groove was affected more by the cold that I wanted to admit, and the results of Kiera's were different than her expectations. I think is is safe to say that we are both happy with the results of a few short hours in the cold together. The truth is, every time Kiera and I work together I feel that way and for that reason I call myself lucky, even in the cold.

WEDDING Annie & Curt- St. George, Utah

Annie and Curt are so full of class and charm that it is impossible not to feel happy just being with them. From the temple to their smoky sparkler exit from The Ledges I loved every minute of this wedding and felt absolutely honored to photograph it. Many thanks Annie and Curt and congratulations!
Click HERE for a lovely, large slideshow and HERE to see, purchase, and love all photos from the day.
PHOTOGRAPHER'S NOTES: I was so happy to have my new SB-900 flash with me at this event. Upgrading my strobe has made all the difference for my confidence and image quality in low-light settings such as dark receptions. I also brought my omnibounce along which really softened the strobe. Omnibounce= miracle worker.

More resolve
...and when the doubt creeps in and I wonder how they do what they do, I will remind myself that I am the only one who can do, and does do, what I do. And so should you.
Shawna & Girls
I love when my sister comes to visit. She brings so much fun and kindness with her everywhere she goes and her girls are no exception. Madison is patient, helpful and unbelievably beautiful. I love having her around, talking with her and hearing what she thinks. Zoe has personality from her bangs to her boots and she comes up with the most hilarious and entertaining things to say. Can you tell I love these girls? I do. A lot.

Photographer's Notes: I promise I will figure out my image sizing this month. I really do. I am also wondering if I want to consider doing slideshows or not. Thoughts?
Resolved.
to share more of what it feels like to be a photographer.
to share more personal work and post more often.
to experiment more with things that inspire me.
to share my approach and philosophy.
to meet new photographer friends and create a better network.
to realize that everything does not need to be perfect.
